yo! been a bit. Life's progressing decently. i now have some time for myself, so i can go back to attend to some of my projects, which include slowly updating this site. That said, i do want to write about trying to do those things.
if you are unaware, i am splitting my attention between updating this site, doodling pokemon (for fun or for the site), finishing up the platforming game here, and planning/experimenting with upgrading the current game engine to do more.
i'll be honest here, it is still hard to progress while bouncing across the different project, despite having some more free time. This time it is mostly on me. When i return home from work, i just want to hang back and... just chill and play games. Working on these projects can sometimes feel like work because they do take some amount of time and effort to do. By the time i made some tangible progress, i'm off to bed. This sometimes feels unsatisfactory, so sometimes i don't bother doing it. Also, what i work on at a given time depends on my mood, so that didn't help. Yet, i press on... slowly.
my current priority is to finish up level design and playtesting. This went on for so long, that i want to just wrap it up. It really is just pain... There isn't a lot left, but it's the last stretch that will take the longest as most simpler ideas have been implemented early on and now you have to be 'creative with it', which i am bad at.
On the bright side, i did update the graphics somewhat for the game and it is now hosted here, in addition to being hosted at itch.io. i also have plans to give a each doodle comic here a cover. This came about because i did doodle something the comic about Cinnamon and Pepper. You can see it here. i plan to update the comic section to be less boring (i.e. not a table). i have also uploaded a old comic about Vanilla and Agnes here. Hope you enjoy it.
in other news, i got into a game called Guntouchables. It's a top-down coop shooter about 4 preppers in an apocalyse. It's pretty fun in a silly way and has that Deep Rock spirit in it. I like it.
Overall, there's some good and bad. That got a little rambly, but i wanted put it out here. As usual, you can catch me at Wafrn. With all that said, see ya next time!
