About

A cheerful cherrim with way too much energy at times and seemingly stuck in Sunshine Form. She appeared one day in Willowgrove village and is adopted by Clefable and Gengar. No one knows where she really came from, but everyone agrees that she is too young to already be evolved.

Due to her cheery and outgoing nature, she generally get along well with anyone. She much prefer the outdoor and enjoy sunbathing a lot. She is a little ditzy, somewhat reckless, and get emotional easily. She enjoys a good battle/duel and would often be found practicing her moves.

  He's usually her play buddy and can be found together on adventures.

• Pepper the Litwick

  After warming up to them, she came to enjoy chatting with them. She likes teasing them sometimes.

Moveset and Abilities

Generally, her attacks are direct and straightforward. Her moveset revolves around sheer firepower and overwhelming projectiles. Her attacks exploit her affinity with cherry petals to create seemingly endless of petals around her to pelt her opponents. Some say that fighting her is like trying to dodge rain.

She is capable of delaying the firing of cherry petals to throw off the opponents' movement, or sometimes even condition their opponents' movement. If the opponent is particularly nimble, she will employ Magical Leaf to chase them.

She is capable of firing solar beams. She usually pairs it with Sunny Day to fire it off quicker. However, she isn't quite as proficient at it, thus she rarely uses it in a real combat situation.

Plant specialty: Cherry Blossom

Her projectiles are cherry blossom petals (and leaves; she prefers petals), which are fast and take very little to synthesize but weak. She could generate them in a small field surrounding her before firing them off. She is capable of either burst-firing, sustained rapid-fire, or an omnidirectional burst.

Ability: Flower Gift

This ability activates on strong sunlight. Its activation is independent of the form that cherrim takes. On activation, it will boost Chihiro special attack power and her petal generation ability.

The ability also allows Chihiro to conjure any flower for whoever she meets, based on her impression on them. This is passive and does not require sunlight to activate. These flowers are replica, thus does not possess the flower's usually properties.

Notable moves

• Magical Leaf: By expending more power, Chihiro can make her cherry blossom leaves (or petals) track her opponent, at the cost of speed.
• Sunny Day: She conjures a ball of light that is as bright as the sun. This ball of light can lit up a moderate-size area and boost any fire-type moves, much to Pepper's delight usually. This also activates Chihiro's ability.
• Solar Beam: She fires of a beam of energy after gathering them from sunlight. Pretty straightforward. She hasn't quite get the hang of it, thus is rarely used in fights.

Author's Comment

at some point of time, i have taking a liking towards Cherrims, and basically became a huge sucker for cherry blossom. Naturally, i decided to have a Cherrim to make up the trio of goofballs. i wanted her to be a contrast to the group where she is the more high-enery one.

i've see her coming from a rural area, where modern necessities and conveniences are uncommon. So, i can see her being fascinated by some of the mundane things most mon would take for granted. On the flip side, she is more daring and adventurous, which contributes to her reckless nature.

i also see her being a little clingy to others and generally hates being lonely. There is a reason why she appear in the village spontaneously and was found evolved earlier than expected, but that's a story for another day.

on a meta level, i really enjoy doodling her due to her humanoid shape, which makes it easier to visualise poses for her. Yes, she is also a walking Touhou reference. It's my little way to pay tribute to a series that i like.
